Snow in the Cascades

During the last week of September a lot of precip fell in the North Cascades.    At higher elevations it came down as snow.

Here in the Methow Valley we were greeted by snowy peaks to the west and east.  Snow down as low as 4000 ft elevation made it seem like we're very close to winter!

From Mt Gardner to Goat Peak, the crowns of white have been visible for the past week.    A few have tried rock-skiing up at Washington Pass, but a bit more snow is really needed.    But it will be here soon!
